On Friday 7th June, Years 2 and 3 enjoyed a Pirates’ Adventure Afternoon. Girls in both year groups worked together in teams of ten children. They took part in seven different challenges and had to solve puzzles and find clues along the way. Activities included finding the capacity of containers on a pirates’ ship, taking part in word treasure hunts, using their co ordinates skills and making origami boats to float. Their adventure finally led to the discovery of treasure at ‘Dining Hall’ Island.
The purpose of the afternoon was for girls in Year 2 to have a gentle and fun introduction to the environment in Upper School and for the Year 3 teachers to get to know their new cohort a little better. Well done to all those who took part. The girls’ pirate language improved as well as their problem solving skills!
