On Friday, 22nd November, Glendower’s swim squad Y3-6, competed in the first round of the London League Swimming Competition. Although we swam at Bute House against 5 other schools, this gala was a virtual gala, which means we also competed against another 16 schools swimming from a different gala.
We swam very well and cheered each other on very enthusiastically. The competition started with the 100m Individual Medley, and then years 3 to 5 swimming 25m backstroke races. All year 6 races were 50m apart from the Butterfly event. In the relays, Glendower continued to swim their very best. The last race was a squadron race, where four swimmers from year 4 to 6 swam a freestyle relay. This was a tough competition and we gave our best. The results came in this week and today, we found out that we came 2nd out of 22 schools. We now move on two Round 2 on the 31st January 2020.
Well done Glendower!! Thank you to all the staff that supported and cheered us on through the event.
