Experience:
Worked for KPMG for over 30 years in a variety of roles in the UK, the US and globally. Qualified as a chartered accountant. The majority of my career, including my 15 years as a partner, were spent in business development where I was responsible for major new business pitches and key account management programs. I lived in the US for six years and travelled extensively as I rolled out programs globally. Training and development of team members were, and continue to be, key areas of interest and focus for me.
Chair of Council, Cheltenham Ladies’ College from 2014-2020 and a member of Council for three years prior to that.
Hobbies and Interests:
Bridge, skiing, travel (when permitted) and watching most sports, particularly rugby (Wales)

Experience:
Jenny Aviss has extensive experience in educational leadership and management; covering Nursery to IB, IGCSE Boarding, and International.
Having a first degree in Music, she then undertook a Masters in Psychology and Special Education at London University.
A Head Teacher by the age of 30 she went on to hold 3 London Headships before becoming Director of Schools and eventually Schools and Colleges at the Alpha Plus Group.
In this role she performed an executive leadership and governance function for 14 Schools and 4 Sixth Form Colleges and was also responsible, in conjunction with colleagues, for the appointment of Heads and senior post holders within the group.
Additionally, during her time at Alpha Plus she initiated the development and founding of 3 schools which included Wetherby Prep, Cheptow House a Co- Educational school and a Special Educational Needs school, Abingdon House.
Having been appointed to the role of Chief Operating Officer for Northern Europe for Inspired Education Group in August 2016 she was asked to undertake an interregnum Headship of St George’s International School in Montreux, Switzerland. a role from which she then spent almost 5 years as Principal and has now returned to the U.K.
Jenny has recently become a JP , serving in the Family Courts.

Liz has been the Head of St George’s School, Ascot, an independent boarding and day school for girls, since 2016. Having studied Geography at Jesus College, Cambridge, followed by a PGCE also there, Liz has been an active member of the education world throughout her professional life. This has included in teaching and school leadership role at Marlborough College, Bedford School, RGS Guildford and before St George's, at St Mary’s School Ascot for 10 years, latterly as Deputy Head, and in a number of school governor roles. She is also Chair of the Girls’ Schools Association (GSA) Boarding Committee and a member of the GSA Council, and a team and boarding school inspector with the Independent Schools Inspectorate.
When not busy in school, or with her teenage children, Liz enjoys travel and being active in the outdoors, particularly hiking, skiing and diving. Having been a keen team sports player, including playing a high level of hockey in her youth, she is now more likely to be found on the tennis court, enjoying the beautiful local countryside on her mountain bike or swimming in a lake!

Glendower School Trust is a registered charity and as such is a not-for-profit organisation run solely for the benefit of its pupils, overseen by the Charities Commission, to which organisation the Trust reports annually on School accounts and activities.
The Headmistress reports to the Governing body who are Trustees of the Charitable Trust. They leave the day-to-day running of the School in her hands but advise her, through committees, on Education, Finance, Health and Safety and Risk.
Governors are drawn from a wide range of business and education backgrounds who make up a body of advice which is valuable to the Headmistress.
