House Assembly

During the first House Assembly, the House Captains and Vice Captains welcomed the girls and reminded them that House meetings occur every half term. They recalled the girls’ role model and which charities are associated to their House. Marlborough supports St Cuthbert’s Day Centre, a day-centre for vulnerable adults and is associated with Amelia Earhart. Wellington supports the Venture Centre, a play-centre for children and is associated with Florence Nightingale. Gordon supports New Horizons, a multi-activity centre for all those aged 50 and is associated with Rosa Parks.

The purpose of this first assembly was to discuss why it is so important to feel ready at school and how we can support each other. This also linked to our habit of learning topic-readiness. The House Captains and Vice Captains told a story of little ‘not so ready’ duck. Everyone was asked to reflect on how to get ready at school, at home and within our community.
