We are delighted to announce that the Governors have appointed Ms Claire Boyd as the next Head of Glendower.
Ms Claire Boyd will take up her position in September 2024. We are very excited to be appointing Ms Boyd who has such a strong background and impressive track record in girls’ education in London and in whom we have every confidence to continue and build upon the excellent work of Mrs Kingsmill Moore and to confidently take Glendower forwards.
Ms Boyd has ten years of headship experience across two high performing London schools. She is currently the Head of Junior School at Wimbledon High School where she has been providing dynamic, thoughtful and visible leadership across all areas of school life. Prior to that she was the Head of Prep School at Sydenham High School and previously Head of Lower School at Ravenscourt Park Preparatory School.
Ms Boyd is highly regarded in the sector and already has established relationships with many London senior schools and is extremely familiar with the 11+ entry requirements. She is a member of the Girls Schools Association Education Committee and been a regular speaker at educational conferences and events.
Ms Boyd holds a BA Hons Politics from Royal Holloway College, University of London and completed her PGCE Primary Education & Early Years at Roehampton University. Additionally, Ms Boyd is a governor of Headington School in Oxford.
We would like to take the opportunity to thank Mrs Kingsmill Moore for her steadfast support during the process to appoint her successor and there will be many opportunities to thank her for her exceptional leadership of Glendower next term.
We look forward to welcoming Ms Boyd to Glendower and have the following message to share from our incoming Head:
“I am delighted to be joining Glendower as Head in September. As a passionate advocate of progressive girls’ education, it will be an honour to lead the school’s bright and brilliant girls in all aspects of their academic, social and personal development. I look forward to not only building on the impressive progress the school has made during Mrs Kingsmill Moore’s tenure but also working with everyone in the Glendower community to ensure the school remains a beacon of excellence and innovation.”
