This week, Glendower has been commemorating the centenary of WWI, focusing specifically on Armistice Day in 1918. Each student created a poppy and, using the information gathered in their lessons this week, they wrote one piece of information that made an impression on them.
These will be used to create an amazing display, showing how Glendower is remembering those who lost their lives in war. Various subject classes
have been looking at the war from a different angle: Year 6 have been looking at WW1 art and poetry; history lessons have been based on the war experience and PSHEE lessons have been thinking about the idea of sacrifice. Even the lunch hall has been transformed, with bunting and a warinspired menu!
