Glendower is a hive of activity before, during and after school when the girls enjoy a wide range of pursuits. These vary from term to term and also depend on the special expertise offered by individual teachers. Clubs on offer may include: Art, several choirs, netball and swimming clubs, Chess, Thinking Skills and Logic, Bridge, Coding and Mini Engineers.
The Chelsea Ballet School comes to Glendower on Tuesday evenings to run classes for the younger children; instrumental ensembles practise during a lunch break and our School Council meets every Thursday before school.
Homework club takes place Monday to Thursday from 4pm to 5pm and is supervised by a member of the teaching staff.
Visits and Workshops
At Glendower we believe that well-organised visits linked to the curriculum provide invaluable educational opportunities beyond what is possible within the classroom.
We are most fortunate in being able to walk to some of London’s best museums, including the V&A, the Natural History Museum and the Science Museum. Nearby churches, the Brompton Oratory and Holy Trinity Brompton are at the heart of the local community and both are beautiful examples of Victorian architecture, as is nearby St Augustine’s.
We are in easy reach of Hyde Park, Kensington Gardens, Stanhope Gardens and Holland Park and we use these parks for everything from sport to science exploration. Our pupils attend performances in central London at theatres and concert venues.
Further afield, our Year 6 pupils have a residential trip to France, Year 5 to the Isle of Wight and Years 3- 4 to activity centres around the UK.
